Training is not mandatory in the State of Augustus at this time. However, training is highly recommended, especially for management staff and as part of a new hire orientation and as part of ongoing staff education. Certification of completing an approved training program with the Alcoholic Beverage Control Board is voluntary, with the following exceptions for local training ordinances:
- The City of Wallsburg has its own alcohol training and alcohol server/seller permit program and requires training for managers.
- The City of Point Russell requires servers/sellers to complete one of the training programs from the list provided on this page.
- Augustus City/County and the cities of Auburn and Kent have local training requirements.
- Check with your local city and county clerk's offices for any training requirement and specifics of any requirement.
The ABC Board may require training as part of the licensing process and may request that the owner(s), partners or corporate officers/LLC members and managers on the application complete one of the training programs when there is insufficient experience selling alcohol in Augustus. Additionally, in the event of a violation, all staff and management may be required to complete a training program as part of a commission order.
To register your training with our offices, submit a copy of the course completion documentation received from any of the training programs on the attached list. There is a $15 processing fee associated with the submission and can be paid online through the portal as a part of the submission process.
