Food Handler Permit

We want everyone in our city stays safe and healthy. So to ensure that, in Augustus everyone who works in a food facility who prepare, store, and serve food all need a Food Handlers Card. 

What do I need to get a Food Handler Permit?

 

Step 1.Find a Food Handler Provider

There are many Food Handler Providers in the area of Augustus such as, Bear River Health Department, Easy Food Handlers, and ServSafe Food Handler. Click here to be directed to list of approved providers. 

Step 2.Complete the Food Handler Training program

One must complete a Food Handler Training Program before getting a permit. There are two different types of training programs, online and in person. By clicking here we will direct you to a list of each.

Step 3.Pay Fees

A fee for a food permit can be up to $50. This will be required to be paid at the time you complete your application. The different payment types include: credit card, check, or bank account can be used to pay these fees.

Food Service Permit

To own a Food Service establishment, there are several steps that you must follow and documentation that you must obtain to be licensed by this Bureau to be a restaurant, fast food, bar, etc. To assist you in the licensing process, we are providing the following information to help you navigate the regulations in Augustus and at the Federal government level to own a Food Service.

Step 1.Determine the type of License you applying for:

  • If you are applying only for a new sprinkler to an existing building, and are doing no other work to your property, continue below.
  • If you're doing new construction, and fire is one of your sub-permits, you do not need to apply (as below), this will simply be part of your master construction permitting process

Step 4.Have payment ready

Be prepared to pay fees associated with your permit. 

Step 5.Await approval, finalization

Once your plans have been approved, you will be required to complete several finalization steps, which may include "Adding/Updating Contractor" or paying any outstanding feeds that may be applicable.
