Apply for a Garage Sale License

Step 1.Check Eligibility 

The City of Augustus allows residents to hold two garage sales per year (over the same 12 month period). If you've already held two garage sales in a 12 month period, you will be able to host another one (1) year from the date of the first garage sale. 

Step 2.Gather Your Information

You must provide one of the following for address verification purposes (address must match that of the proposed garage sale site):

  • Driver’s License
  • Utility Bill
  • Voter Registration Card
  • Any government-issued document showing the applicant’s current residential address.

Step 3.Have Your Payment Ready

There is a $15 application fee for a Garage Sale License. This license is good for three consecutive days. 

Step 4.We'll Review Your Application 

You will receive email notification indicating we received your application. It takes us 5-7 business days to process applications.   Once approved, you will receive your temporary license via email attachment.
