Report Construction Materials in the Street or Sidewalk

Step 1.Identify your complaint

Construction material and equipment may not occupy more than 1/3 of the roadway width and not more than 1/2 of the sidewalk width unless an additional street space permit is granted per Article 15, Section 724 Public Works Code.  If you see this or any dangerous conditions caused by construction materials please report it to the city.

Step 3.We'll review your complaint

We'll start a case after we review and accept your complaint. Then we send a letter to the owner for complaints we enforce. We give the owner 7 days for non-hazardous issues. Our inspectors follow up with an on-site inspection. If timely corrections aren't completed, the process continues. If the complaint is a hazard, our inspectors inspect the condition as soon as possible.
