We're here to serve our community! We work toward our goal of a safer City through professional, progressive, and responsive police services. We couldn't do this without your support. That's why we partner with community organizations and focus on specific neighborhood problems.
 
Our mission is to protect and served and we do it with integrity. Our officers are:
  • Progressive: We will never become complacent in the way we deliver service. We will aggressively pursue emerging technology and innovative ideas.
  • Professional: We will conduct ourselves in a manner that reflects well on our department, our community, and our profession. We will treat all citizens with dignity and respect.
  • Responsive: We will listen to the community's wants and needs and not restrict our thinking to traditional paradigms. The concerns of our community will help to shape the priorities of our agency.

Bill Scott

Police Chief William “Bill” Scott was sworn in on January 23, 2017, after serving 27 years in law enforcement. Chief Scott graduated from the University of Alabama, and the Sr Mngt Institute of Policing.

“Any successful police dept has to be a partnership between the community and officers. I am honored to work with residents, community leaders and local stakeholders for a better Springfield."
