Board of Adjustment

Zoning Board of Adjustment 

 The Board of Adjustment (BDA) is a fifteen-member citizen board divided into three, five-member panels appointed by the City Council to hear and take appropriate action on variations to Development Code regulations, on appeal from decisions of the Building Official made in the enforcement of the Development Code and on termination of non-conforming uses. Staff will review the variance on request and make recommendations to the BDA prior to the hearing.

City Plan Commission

City Plan Commission - 2020

The City Plan Commission meeting will be held by video conference.  Individuals who wish to speak in accordance with the City Plan Commission Rules of Procedure should contact the Sustainable Development and Construction Department at 214-670-4209 by the close of business Tuesday prior to the scheduled CPC Meeting date. As established by the City Charter, the City Plan Commission (CPC) is responsible for making recommendations to the City Council regarding planning and zoning matters, and for administering Chapter 212 of the Texas Local Government Code regarding the platting and recording of subdivisions and additions. It is through this planning for and regulation of land development that the City Plan Commission achieves its land use planning objectives.

Landmark Commission

As required by the Dallas Development Code, the Landmark Commission is responsible for making decisions regarding Certificate of Appropriateness applications within all City of Dallas historic districts and individually designated structures. The Landmark Commission, a quasi-judicial body, is made up of fifteen members and three alternates, all appointed by City Council.
